Mayor Adams vs. Critics: Crime Reduction StrategyMayor Adams prioritizes crime reduction despite criticism. Opponents favor alternative approaches like social workers instead of police. Focus on 'positive policing' faces challenges.

    Adams’ Stance on Crime

“When the movie critics contacted us to reduce financing,” she proclaimed just recently, Mayor Eric Adams “chose to reduce criminal activity. When the pressure came to back down– he selected to double down. And when others tried to make headlines– he picked to make a difference.”

The commissioner has a responsibility to avoid politics, so she can’t spell it out, yet Mamdani has constantly been one of those critics– and clearly would not select to do what’s required to reduce criminal activity: His approach is fundamentally opposed to Tisch’s hallmark plans of positive, quality-of-live policing.

    Alternative Approaches to Domestic Violence

People “going through” domestic violence– weasel words for battered ladies and kids– do not require “an individual with a gun” to assist them, Zohran advised in July 2020; he wants to send social employees rather.

Instead, it suggests that you “give the individual creating harm the chance to remedy their behaviors”– and if that kumbaya approach does not put off, say, a knife-wielding maniac, Mamdani and Caban recommend you to “distract” your assaulter by “spilling your soft drink.”

    Criticism and Public Safety

In acting he can keep the commissioner on, Mamdani proxies such as state Attorney general of the United States Tish James and city Comptroller Brad Lander are simply trying to blur away his horrible and lengthy document on public safety.

Our potential mayor gets on record that doing away with the cops isn’t enough: Jails and prisons must go, too: “The entire carceral system is an unreformable public health danger,” he fumed in Dec. 2020. “Defund & take apart.”
