Blaise Taylor Murder Trial: Cocaine Poisoning Allegations in Benning’s Death

Ex-Arkansas State player Blaise Taylor faces murder charges for allegedly poisoning Jade Benning and their unborn daughter with a fatal cocaine dose in Feb 2023. Taylor's defense claims Benning accused him of spiking her drink before becoming unresponsive; unprecedented toxicology results were reported.
“I don’t recognize, I think she is having an allergy. We were consuming, food preparation and hanging, and then she stated she wasn’t feeling good,” an audibly breathless Taylor might be heard saying in the call, which came in at around 9:38 p.m. that evening.
Prosecutors– that assert the previous Tennessee Titans precursor really did not desire the baby– informed the court that Benning’s toxicology results differed from anything previously seen by the Nashville clinical supervisor’s workplace, according to regional news outlet WKRN.com.
“With all of this medical emergency situation, all of these points that were going on with this girl, there was only one person who called the authorities, that called for assistance, which was Blaise,” she claimed of her customer.
Trial Unveils Accusations and Legal Battle
Day two of Taylor’s test kicked off with Nashville Assistant Area Lawyer Jan Norman describing a telephone call that Benning made to her friend– in which she implicated Taylor of surging her drink– soon prior to she became less competent that night.
Taylor, that has been needed to put on a general practitioners check since uploading the $2.5 million bond set by a court during the April 2024 hearing, deals with life in prison without parole if he’s convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and two matters of felony murder.
