Editor’s Offensive Post: Blackstone Executive MurderDoubleday editor Thomas Gebremedhin apologizes for reposting an offensive Instagram story seemingly justifying the murder of Blackstone executive Wesley LePatner. The post sparked outrage and condemnation.

The tone-deaf repost stunned several in the publishing world, where Gebremedhin moves in elite literary circles. His Instagram, @tgebremedhin, is private but screenshots of the tale began circling online this week, causing prevalent condemnation.

    Gebremedhin’s Instagram Post Sparks Outrage

Thomas Gebremedhin, vice president and executive editor at Doubleday Books, shared the vile Instagram story highlighting an X post regarding Monday’s mass capturing at 345 Park Ave., where LePatner, 46, was assassinated while trying to protect herself behind a marble pillar.

    Editor Apologizes for ‘Reckless’ Post

“I seriously apologize for reposting a tweet that attempted to justify the murder of a Blackstone executive– I shared it without completely reviewing the inscription, which was deeply reckless. I take complete liability for the harm created and have no need to add to a culture already overwhelmed with craze and noise,” he created.

    LePatner Remembered

LePatner, that was international head of Core+ Realty and ceo for Blackstone Property Income Trust, was grieved by her firm and family members as “great,” “cozy” and “deeply valued.” She served on the board of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, mentored young women and was recognized by UJA-Federation for her Jewish philanthropy.

A top editor at Penguin Random Home presumably buffooned the murder of Blackstone executive Wesley LePatner in an unusual Instagram message which criticized her for the real estate crisis and ending with “rest in piss.”

Social network individuals were quick to point out that LePatner did not make “$9,000 a minute,” and condemned the post, which was initially made in response to Blackstone’s main memorial tweet and flagged by Free Press press reporter Maya Sulkin.
